Custom Integrations

Introduction

The Custom Integrations section in GuestWisely allows the primary account holder to grant API access to other users with specific permissions. This is especially useful for developers, agencies, or partners who need to access your property and booking data via the GuestWisely API.

Accessing your API Settings

The Custom Integrations tab, accessible under Settings > API & Integrations, allows you to manage and generate API credentials for your account. This functionality enables secure and customizable access to your system by other users or external applications.

Below is a detailed explanation of the available settings, how to generate additional credentials, manage user permissions, and perform key actions within this section:

Available API Settings

  • GuestWisely API Owner Token: A required token for all API requests. This token identifies your account and enables API access.

  • GuestWisely API Owner Username: The username linked to the account’s API access.

  • GuestWisely Email Address: Used to send system messages from your API-connected application.

Generating additional API credentials

You can generate multiple API credentials for different users or systems by clicking on Add new+ button. This will generate the following information:

  • Your Ref Name: An editable custom name to help you identify the purpose or owner of this integration. Click on Save changes button once you renamed your new permission.

  • GuestWisely API Key:  A base64-encoded string used to securely access the API.

  • GuestWisely API Password:  A secure password paired with the key to authenticate API access.

User Permissions

You can control the scope of access by selecting the relevant options:

  • Property Information Only: Allows the user to access property data (e.g., descriptions, amenities).

  • Booking and Guest Information Only: Grants access to guest and reservation data.

Available Actions

  • Save Changes: Updates the integration settings.

  • Delete API: Removes the selected API integration.

  • Add New: Creates a new user API access slot with customizable fields and permissions.

  • Copy: This button allows you to copy the API key and password.

For technical integration details, refer to the GuestWisely API Documentation. If you're unsure about how to use these credentials, please contact your developer or reach out to GuestWisely support at support@guestwisely.io.
